Wandering through invisible Warsaw – workshops for visually impaired people
The multi-sensory experience will help participants to learn about the history of Warsaw in the 20th century. The multitude of sources includes witnesses' accounts collected by the Oral History Archive, other audio recordings, original artefacts and clothing and specially designed models and maps of Warsaw.
Education Department

The special quality of our educational program lies in the use of primary sources, especially eyewitness relations collected by the HMH and the KARTA Centre. Individual experiences conveyed in written and oral accounts, documents, photographs and documentaries allow for a better understanding of historical events.
Our workshops are interdisciplinary, thus enhance the curriculum not only of history, but also of social studies, cultural studies, ethics or Polish language lessons. We offer various forms of activities: workshops, movie screenings, meetings with eyewitnesses, urban games, guided tours and project work. We welcome youth and adults with intellectual disabilities to participate in our educational program. Teachers and facilitators are invited to methodological seminars and conferences. In addition, we offer advice to teachers who work on their own educational projects.
Our activities are designed for learners of all levels: pupils (kindergarten, primary and secondary schools), students, teachers, educators, facilitators and senior citizens. Language is not a barrier; workshops can be conducted in English, German, Russian or Ukrainian.

We highly recommend books published by the History Meeting House; they include selections of unique primary sources, documents, photographs and relations which can be used to supplement the curriculum.
